AWARD WINNING PLANET:
RIFT - OVERLORD KHELSON

It's Walrus time again... yes, let's state right up front that Rehfeldt's planet Rift wins the coveted Walrus of Merit award for excellence in design and construction.

As with all very very good planets, there is a limit to how much we want to say about the world, because we don't want to spoil the experience of exploring the place.

Rift is well-named; not only is the planet separated from the rest of its duchy by a large space rift, but the world itself is build in and around a canyon, which forms a rift in the fabric of the world itself. At one end of the canyon, the giant Magellan waterfall plummets thousands of feet from the plains and forests above into the Rift River below. At the other end of the canyon, the river runs into the sea.

The main habitable parts of the planet are built into the face of the canyon wall, in five levels which are linked by a lift. All 5 levels are explorable, and for those that wish to venture further afield, there is an island and a reef out in the ocean.

Despite droids' well-known aversion to water, we did venture out by boat to visit the Spindrift Island, but were most distressed to find that damn parrot that used to live on Nirvana has now taken up residence on Rift. We hope his beak hurts from trying to bite our casings.

Rift is one of those rare planets that makes you want to keep exploring, to find out what is around the next corner. There's a puzzle to solve with clues scattered all over the planet.

Rift is a marvellous planet that thoroughly deserves its Walrus. We urge you to explore it.
