Having hovered in the wings for months, studing Hazed's every move, learning
her every line, Clem had waited in silence for his opportunity of fame and
fortune. Then suddenly, just before the famous weekly SPYNET BULLETIN was about
to go in, disaster struck. Hazed's computer, having had her formidable fingers
beat down on its keys for too long, imploded. Staring down at its chared
remains, she called Clem.
"I can't go on tonight," she said, "but the show must! It's all down to you."
At last, his time had come, it was now or never.

"Hi I'm Clem."
It has often been asked, who is CLEM? Or as Occy once put it, you should get
rid of that Clem, he is never on, he doesn't do anything and quite frankly he
is a waste of space.
Well I'm the guy responsible for the marketting of FEDERATION II. The poor sap
who does all the wheeling and dealing with "the suits" in power. As you all
probably know, marketting men, although brash and brazen people on the surface,
tend to be quiet, shy guys underneath. If you believe that you'll believe
anything. Anyway, contry to public opinion, I am on alot, it is just that I log
in as a Captain, rather than the more obvious Explorer your all watching for.
"Why,"  they ask," does Clem log on as Captain X ?"
The answer is simple, when Explorer Clem logs on, half the players in
Federation log off.
"Paranoid!" They cry.
Yes I guess so. Happily, where as Explorer Clem is paranoid, Captain X is not.
Such are the wonders of role-playings.

**> PROMOTION NEWS

Oxcart has made it to the heady heights of JP-dom, well done!! Mequiezik, is
now Trader, and probably wondering why he doesn't get many Tight-Beam messages.
Dr, has made Adventurer, the rank to be the lowest level to able to jump
through the "soon to be operational" interstellar link. Sirius, made it to
Trader and without artifical aid he hastened to add. RedThunder has got to
Captain.
As usual there are many more of you out there climbing up the ranks, so a
non-specific congratulations all round.

**>> EXPLORER'S MASTERCLASS

Standing on the threshold of Space, the Explorers giant labours are nearing
their final phases. On Sunday May 12, 3.00 EDT there is one final chance for
Explorers to ask Bella about those great questions, before planets begin to
appear in the heavens. It will also give them a chance to arrange with Bella
the time of their planets appearance.
I think I can speak for most of us when I say that I am really looking forward
to experiencing the new planetoids. If they all come up to the standard of
Russ' Haven system then we are all in for a real treat.

**>> A POSTING ON POSTED POSTERS.

The signed, limited edition prints of the Federation artwork, won last month,
in the special ranks competition, were dispatched mid-week. They are now in
that abstract ether called the Postal system. So watch the Skies. If you won a
print and haven't E-mail us your address, then hurry up and do it or you may
lose out!

**>> GOSSIP, SLANDER, RUMOUR & LIBEL ETC.

I can't claim to have the massive nexus of connections and sources of the
legendary Hazed, but rumours will wend their insidious ways. On the grapevine
of Dataspace, the word has it that Oxcart has painted his spaceship nude. This
just demonstrates how unreliable and vague such slander can be. Does this mean
that Oxcart has painted a nude on his hull or has he produced a painting of his
spaceship without its shields on?
Also bubbling along the underground river of rumour is the tale that Oddball
had confined someone in a closet and had sent a pair of hungry and amourous
Marsrats in under the door. The outcome is unknown.

**>> PLANETS ARE COMING

As regular readers of the H-by-A news wire service will know, new planets built
by Explorers will soon be with us. I can now reveal that our illustrious leader
has landed on RUSS' planet. Not content with that, he has traveled around its
locations but been able to use its objects and deal with its unique mobiles. It
seems now, that it won't be long before everyone, (adventurer and above that
is), will be jumping through the interstellar link into an infinatly expanding
universe.

Teh last tim I write sumthing on Genie, i wuz serverly reprimanded 4 my
terrible spelink and gramma, like what I have just writ. So if any errors got
thru dis time, I'll blame it on my spelling chequer.
