The feature is actually designed so that the game itself can send messages to planet owners about any noteworthy events on their worlds, such as earthquakes, riots, shortages, invasions or other calamities. Factory owners will also receive notification of pipeline deliveries being successfully completed, or not as the case may be. As an experiment Bella is allowing players to send messages to each other. The command is, quite simply, - for example, . Obviously, you will have to break long messages into chunks, just as you do with the command. Whenever you log on, the game will display any messages that are waiting for you. They will only be displayed once, and you cannot recall them, so make sure you have a capture buffer opened if you don't have scrollback on your terminal. You can also send a message to yourself, which will act as a reminder for when you next log on to the game. There are two things we must stress here. First, this is an experiment. It may turn out that the message files take up too much space, or use too much processing power. If that is the case, Bella will modify or remove the facility as necessary. The second point is that we cannot guarantee privacy for your messages. The files which hold messages waiting for you are not encrypted in any way. If you want to ensure complete confidentiality, use GEnie mail where privacy is guaranteed. Assuming that the messaging facility stays in, it would be the ideal way to pass on snippets of gossip to our newsdroids; just ! **>> OTHER CHANGES The
