Players who have a planet will -not- be transferred, since it creates far too much work and can corrupt the persona file. Players under Explorer will be transferred, but will be charged 10 meg multiplied by their rank for the privilege (no overdrafts available). Bella will -not-, under any circumstances, switch a persona to an account owned by another person. **>> COMING SOON... You can expect some changes to the game towards the end of the week, or the beginning of next week. Bella is, however, being vague and mysterious about exactly what they are! **>> EARLY PROMOTION Given that the promotion requirement for Adventurers is 800 trader points, and that this is shown on the display, Sheba was rather surprised to log on a few days ago, having only done 480-ish jobs, and be told she had suddenly become an Adventurer! Bella checked the files, and found that she'd accidentally used the French version of the promotions file! Each different version of the game has different promotions requirements - in France, because there are no Rich People yet to generate planet jobs or offer jobs to the Poor People, players don't have to do so many jobs to be promoted. She'll swap the files over at the next reset. So Sheba has become an Adventurer early, but she hasn't really gained anything - she'll still have to do 1800 jobs to get to Trader. **>> BOOM BOOM! Condor has somehow managed to detonate the Martian Ruins TWICE in the same reset, as could be seen from the SpyNet Review... quite an accomplisment, since the second explosion happened while the ruins were still a smoking crater from his first bodged attempt, and therefore inaccessible! Yes, we know how he did it, and no, we're not telling. **>> ANOTHER EXCITING EPISODE... On the gossip front, there is only one big story this week, and that's turning into a real soap opera! It started when Jade and Destiny got engaged, and planned their wedding for Valentine's Day (Awwwwwww, how romantic!). Destiny redecorated his planet in preparation for the event, putting a Chapel of Lurv on Xixax, and a reception hall, and (of course) a Honeymoon Suite with everything the modern married couple could possible require. Having gone to all that trouble, he and Jade decided to elope and get married early! What a waste of effort. Last Sunday the blushing bride and her gormless groom held a simple ceremony in Chez Diesel, the Social Centre of the Solar System, before disappearing off to Xixax's Honeymoon Suite (where the gold paint was barely dry). So far, so standard. But when the adoring couple emerged from the love-nest, rumours starting flying around Fed Data Space that the marriage had, in fact, been one of convenience rather than true lurv. Jade had agreed to marry Destiny to help him out of a tight spot, and the arrangement was only for a month. Seems he went to a great deal of trouble with his planet for such a short marriage! We haven't the foggiest what this spot of bother might have been - unless he wanted to escape from the clutches of Azure! Destiny had previously promised to marry Azure (not in so many words, but it was implied) but then had claimed he hadn't meant to propose, it's all a bit mistake... So now the plot thickens even further. Having agreed to this marriage of convenience for one month, Destiny decides that he really does love Jade and he wants to commit to a proper relationship. Jade was rather taken aback by this, and didn't quite know how to respond. Yes, she liked Destiny, she enjoyed his company, he was good in bed, but did she really love him? She didn't know. A close friend of Jade, Noe, told us that once upon a time, Jade had a bad experience with love (details unspecified) and ever since she has sheltered her emotions to avoid any pain... (don't blame us, we didn't write this purple prose, we are just reported what we were told!) So she is unable to love Destiny. Sort of emotionally frigid, we guess. As if that isn't enough, both PlantKing and Altasren are alleged to be trying to seduce Jade away from Destiny - in fact, there are rumours that Destiny has challenged Altasren to steal his beloved away... Oh, we just can't report any more of this stuff. Pass the sick bag! **>> PLANETS AND DUCHIES Total turned up again yesterday evening, so his planet, Aruba, should reappear at the next reset. He's still not a Squire, though - he and his planet will have to be on simultaneously for the promotion to be posted! Crime (owned by Jim) has advanced to Industrial level, and Oxcart's Jinx is now a Technical planet. Freya expects her Vitro to promote to leisure at the next reset. Marcia has reappeared from her soujourn in La Belle France, so Roissy is back in. Topper is rewriting Oasis. He's already got the time requirement for promotion, so he thought he'd take the opportunity to redecorate. The planet will reduce to fifteen locations. Xixax has also had a facelift (see previous story). **>> SPYNET REVIEW This week's new Captains are: Muskegon, Caleb, Nicolle, Sorel and Galaxus. The following were promoted to Adventurer: Muskegon, Cucamonga, Sheba and Sandtiger. Highlander, Bull, Kaighishi and Muskegon became Traders. Maxwell became CEO of Hammer Industries. The awesome JP puzzle was cracked by Akiko and Felice. Jim was promoted to Industrialist, and Oxcart to Technocrat. Congratulations to all of you! Destiny chalked up 1000 games, and Freya an impressive 2000. Sad news: Mirth has gone dead-dead. From the timing, it looks like suicide. We've got no idea why, if anyone has any information please will they give it to one of our newsdroids. Mirth's planet, Muse, will disappear at the next reset. **>>CONTACTS The following information will appear at the end of every News Bulletin, so you don't have to read it if you already know it.
