SUMMER SONGS WITH FED RADIO

Summer Songs was an event held a few years ago, where famous Fedders selected their favoriate songs for the summer, which were then played on Archer's popular internet radio station Fed Radio.

THE PLAYLIST

Fancy:
Wipeout - The Surfaris. When I've got short positions on commodities that drop dramatically in a day, I'm laughing right along with the opening lyric as I make money.
Surf City - Jan & Dean. Two girls for every boy. Nice imagery, and a rocking song, to boot.
Good Vibrations - The Beach Boys. What summer song set would be complete without a song by The Beach Boys? And this one's a classic.

Gwaptiva:
Summertime Girls - Y&T
Summertime - DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince
Summer of 69 - Bryan Adams (what, am I That old? shurely not)

Hazed:
Summer Loving - John Travolta and Oliva Newton-John - I was in my late teens when Grease came out and I loved the film. This song is a great summer love song but it's also a lesson in spin, with two people giving people different slants on their stories of what happened that summer.
School's Out - Alice Cooper - We used to sing this loudly every summer when school broke up for the summer holidays, much to the annoyance of the teachers.
Summer in the City - Lovin' Spoonful - We had a two-week heatwave in London this year, and that was our summer! But the lyrics really describe what's it like in the city when the weather is hot. "Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty" indeed!

Alan:
59th Street Bridge Song (Feeling Groovy) - Simon and Garfunkel
Itchy-coo Park - Small Face
Love Comes to Town - U2 and BB King

Archer:
Swing - Trace Adkins - A fun song with baseball references
Wooly Bully - Sam the Sham & the Pharoahs - Just a fun surf song. I always think of Jeff Spicoli in the dance scene for Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Summertime Blues - Alan Jackson - Fun remake of a summer classic.

Catspaws:
Summertime by Kenny Chesney
Chatahoochie by Alan Jackson
Watermelon Crawl by Tracy Byrd
Anything by Beach Boys

Gandolf:
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody - As Wayne and Garth did, so did I and many friends. Wonder how many folks bonded their friendships singing this song at the top of their lungs inside an AMC Pacer. We did this bit in an old Toyota Corolla long before Wayne and Garth, but the effect was the same.
Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come on Eileen - Always liked this song. But then, I also like the Buggles-Video killed the radio star.. was a struggle deciding which to place.
Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Relax - What's to say.. relax.

Elijah:
Lake Tahoe (For My Father) - Sherwood - this song was written by my friend Dan for his band Sherwood, based on his memories of family trips up to Lake Tahoe in the winter and summer. The song is sort of a love song to his father and to his childhood. Sherwood's three albums have been known to be "Summer Albums" - The song that got them the attention of the record labels was called "The Summer Sends it's Love".
Summer Lovin' - Grease - Classic song that's fun to sing along to, from a great movie musical
Daydream Believer - The Monkees - Classic song from the Sixties. Can't beat cheesy television show bands.

Jessecka:
Who'll Stop the Rain - Creedence Clearwater Revival - This song is great because it reminds me of lazy afternoons, sitting on the porch with my father, who was a big CCR fan.
Love Shack - The B-52's - Oh, this is just one of those fun songs that gets you moving. Makes me want to throw a big summer party!
Grind With Me - Pretty Ricky - This song reminds me of last summer... well... Robius understands!

Occy
Van-Halen - Eruption/You Really Got Me - It seem like every time I was at the beach I heard this song until I bought the LP!
Queen - Fat Bottom Girls - Sitting on the beach, hanging out on the pier or hanging out in the kosher burrito, this song always got sung a few times an hour and not for what the meaning of the song really is.
B52's - Rock Lobster - Nothing says fun in the sun, fun on the beach, like this does.
B52's - Strobe Light - After the sun goes down...
