CHRISTMAS SCAVENGER HUNT

Wednesday December 28
by Freya

A special edition Christmas Scavenger Hunt was created as a treat for both players and staff this holiday season. Because it was created and run entirely by Hazed and Freya, not even Fed2 staff team leaders knew the clues or objects in advance.

On Wednesday evening, December 28 a large crowd of Fed II players and staff gathered in Lucky Seven for the start of the Christmas Scavenger Hunt. A special Hunt channel was created and at a signal, the clue command was released. The crowd quickly dispersed to track down the clues with conversation continuing on the Hunt channel. Hints and tips and cries of triumph flitted across DataSpace. Contestants had 1 hour to solve the clues and find as many mystery objects as possible.

Slowly a large pile of objects accumulated on the barroom floor as successful hunters deciphered the clues and turned in the mystery objects. Excitement grew as the hour passed and fewer and fewer objects remained hidden. Finally time was called and the found objects tallied. Three objects remained unfound.

For those who weren't able to attend the scavenger hunt, here are the clues:

Clue 1 - Get cleaned up, and find the celestial being.
Clue 2 - Lines and whorls, the dangerous walls, conceal the kissing parasite.
Clue 3 - The illumination in Osbert Squeegle's room.
Clue 4 - The Hanukkah spinning top has been left in the boss builder's bed.
Clue 5 - The glittery silver decoration is flammable, so perhaps this restaurant isn't the best place for it!
Clue 6 - It's heavily spiced and full of nuts, and nobody wants to eat it... but surely it's not that dangerous a weapon?
Clue 7 - Knobs, buttons, switches, sliders and a candelabrum with eight arms.
Clue 8 - The finishing touch to your presents (or your hair) can be found in the hotel with the unpronounceable name that used to be a dorm.
Clue 9 - Send your seasonal greetings to Rodin's sculpture.
Clue 10 - Frozen water takes on a beautiful shape, but isn't one of the commodities on display.
Clue 11 - The ex-spacer has decorated his bar door with this garland.
Clue 12 - This tool breaks things open, so it's out of place in the shop where things are mended.
Clue 13 - Simon says the dripping water has frozen solid.
Clue 14 - It's so hot in here... can-can you find the satin strip?
Clue 15 - People don't come here, and the mining machines don't drink, so they won't want this sickly festive booze.
Clue 16 - Forcefields make the air hazy, which helps these prickly leaves to stay hidden.
Clue 17 - The armed security droids won't stop you finding the wax illuminator.
Clue 18 - It goes around presents, not in the fountain.
Clue 19 - The face on the rock has hung up his sock.
Clue 20 - Horses don't eat these fruity tartlets - not even mythical horses.

Can you figure out what the objects are and where they are hidden? The three unsolved clues were numbers 3, 15 and 20. Maybe you can do better than the contestants! If you want to know if your guesses are right, mail them to feedback@ibgames.com and we'll tell you. There's no prizes on offer, just the satisfaction of knowing that you solved a clue.

The winners were: Fancy in 1st place, Robius in 2nd place, and Kella in 3rd place. In addition to the fame and glory of winning the Christmas Scavenger Hunt, all 3 winners received slithy prizes!
