FROM THE POSTBAG: GIVING A DEAL TO FACTORY OWNERS

Once again, the know-it-all newsdroids of the Fed2 Star are happy to answer your questions, providing knowledge and information about all aspects of life in Fed2 DataSpace. This week, our questioner is a PO concerned about his factory owners:

"Can I give my factory owners a better deal on my market than the average trader? For example, if a factory makes nanfabs, I want to give a selectively good price for the raw materials and a good price on their product, but I would otherwise like to keep the spread set at 40."

We're sorry to say that the answer to this question is "No". There is no way to do what the PO wants, which is to have the price different for specific players than it would be generally.

That's not to say it's impossible to give a good deal to your factory owners. You can arrange to change the markup temporarily so they are able to buy the inputs needed at a good price, and then they can leave them in the depot for the factory to use over time.

Similarly, if they have the output directed to the depot, you can arrange with them that you will change the markup when they are ready to sell the goods, so they make a good profit.

You just can't set things up so they automatically get a good deal - not unless everyone else gets it too!
