MAGELLAN CUP

Saturday July 8
by Robius

Fancy made his return to Magellan Cup after missing the last few runnings, along with Jessecka and Priscilla. Droid and Kalandra joined us on the magellan channel to take in the exciting event. Our starting point, as usual, was 2 east of the Magellan LP. The players did not need the rules so I went right ahead and gave the first clue:

"Ye gods! What the heck happened to her? It's madness. She has three heads and no arms. She may not can point me in the right direction but she sure looks like she knows where these roads lead."

This clue referenced the Crossroads of Hecate on Pantheon in the Kaos system. Fancy and Priscilla quickly made their way out of the gate, but the extremely pregnant bubble Goddess, Jessecka was a little slower. She still found the marker before the others and was given the second clue:

"Whatdaya mean it's time for me to get down?!? I'm a hit up here. Everyone loves my singing. I'm not just in it for fame and... hey, wait a minute! This just karaoke, I can sing as long as I want!"

This clue proved a bit harder for our racers. The marker was located Up on Stage in the Glory Karaoke Bar on Glory in the Starcloud system. Jessecka found it first, unsurprisingly. I've heard rumors of her days on the karaoke circuit. Fancy and Priscilla found this clue a good bit later than Jess and were given the final clue of the night:

"Did ya hear about the man that was struck by lightning? The nurses said that when he finally woke up in the bed, he said he was crazy about thunderstorms and started singing "Don't know why there's no sun up in the sky....."

For those that don't recognize that song lyric, it is from 'Stormy Weather'. And that was where our final marker was located, the Hospital on Stormy in the Weather system. Jessecka must have stopped to rest her swollen ankles, because Fancy and Priscilla both gained a good bit of ground on her on this clue. With just 5 minutes left in the race. Fancy found the marker first, followed closely by Jessecka and then shortly by Priscilla.

Congratulations to Fancy in his return to the Magellan Cup. He managed to beat Jessecka back to the finish line by a whisker. Priscilla was right on Jessecka heels. Thanks to Droid and Kalandra for tuning in to watch.

Magellan Cup is taking a break for the summer - we'll be back later in the year.
