REAL LIFE NEWS: THE STAR TREK CROP CIRCLE

Maybe you believe that crop circles are created by bored aliens who have nothing better to do than hover over remote fields and leave strange graffiti to mystify poor dumb earthlings. Or maybe you are more sensible and realise that they are all created by bored humans who have nothing better to do than perpetrate hoaxes to fool the gullible. Whatever... here's an example of graffiti in cereal fields that is clearly done by human hand, but is incredibly impressive for its detail.

It's a 32-acre maze cut into the maize as an homage to Star Trek. Tom Pearcy, a fan of the show, used satellite technology to help him cut the maze in the field at his farm near York, northern England, to celebrate 40 years since the show's first episode. It uses 1.5 million maize plants and claims to be the biggest of its kind in the world.

Go take a look at a picture of the Star Trek Crop Circle.
