THERE AIN'T NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH

The word TANSTAAFL was coined by the science fiction writer Robert Heinlein, and it's an acronym. It features heavily in his classic novel of rebellion and revolution on the prison colony on the moon, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.

You could equally say that There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Fed! Sure, you don't have to pay to play Fed, but running the game does cost money, which we get by selling slithy toves which you can exchange for useful or entertaining things in the game.

Last month we explained that the set-up costs for moving Fed2 to the new server had been more than we were expecting, and we asked for players to help us out by buying slithies. Thanks to everyone who did that - we raised the money we needed and were able to pay the bills.

But now the next set of bills have come in, and they have to be paid too, so we need players to carry on buying slithy toves. We're not trying to solicit massive donations here (although those would be very nice!) because even those $10 purchases of two slithies are a big help - enough of those soon add up to the sums we need to keep Fed2 going.

Go to the slithy tove page to buy some slithies, or to subscribe and get a 25% discount on the price.
