REAL LIFE NEWS: HONEYPOT CAR GETS STOLEN

by Hazed

Many police forces have taken to using cars as bait to catch car thieves. The "honeypot" cars are decked out with hidden cameras and tracking devices, so that if they get nicked, the cops can catch the perpetrators.

Unfortunately, Dallas police have just lost one of their bait cars. Despite being loaded with sophisticated equipment, including cameras, a remote engine-kill system and tracking capabilities, it vanished some time last weekend and they have no idea where it is now. It's quite likely that the thieves don't even know they have stolen a car which, if the police can remotely repair the tracking glitch, could still lead to their arrest.

The police are refusing to say what make or model the car is, or where it was stolen from, because they don't want to compromise further use of honeypot cars.
