WACKY WORDS (Sunday Edition)

by Catspaws
Sunday, October 8

This Sunday was to be a lazy Sunday for me with no meetings or games scheduled. I had packed up a few toys and was planning a day spent lying on the sands on the beach in the demo room on Magrathea when I received a summons from Fancy: "Hiya, Cats. Would you be willing to host an edition of Wacky Words today?" I glanced at myself in the mirror, clad in my favorite blue bikini, then tossed my bag into the corner. "I could do it if you like," I replied. And therefore I gathered together a few players for the first early edition of Wacky Words.

Wacky Words has always been one of my favorite games, and I could have come up with some truly delicious lists. Fancy, however, gave me an old one of Squeeky's to use. Like an obedient minion, I used the mouse's list, and the game began with the word "Smile." Emie's "Sumatra makes illegal liquid (espressos)" got the most votes and was my favorite as well. After much guessing by several players, Dunavant guessed the theme of Fed2 Commands.

Genike's "A killer at trading Uthar, reached industrialist" and Dunavant's "All Kimberly's asteroid trips ultimately required insurance" each won two points for the second word, Akaturi. I can't help but wonder what Kimberly was doing in the asteroids...

The third word, Follow, brought out another vote tie for Genike's "Freya obviously loves lusifer's open worshiping" and my favorite, Dunavant's "Felines obviously like looking out windows," Of course we do. We're watching for the milk delivery!

Now, for the next word, Block, there seemed to be a common theme. I want to point out that I am a sweet, loving, peaceful cat, and Dunavant's answer, though garnering the most votes, was just wrong: "better look out, Catspaws kills." Even Emie maligned my character with "But lately only Catspaws kills." Unless you're a mouse or a bird, you're safe. I swear!

Genike got the most votes for the next word, Collect, but her response requires a bit of explanation: "Catspaws often licks Liakell, every chance to-date." Liakell eats a lot of tuna sandwiches. Perfectly innocent.

Emie's, "Venus's entire rail system is outdated now" won the most votes for the final word, Version, but my favorite was Genike's, "Very early reactions say Icey offers nothing." There is a lot I could say about Icey, but I'm running out of room on this report.

We had a tie-breaker between Dunavant and Genike, so I pulled out the word Inventory, for which Genike's "Interestingly Nomad viciously engages nitwits, treating others rudely, yelling!" won three points and established him as the winner.

I had great fun hosting this special edition of Wacky Words, and I thank everyone for playing. Now, where did I stash that bikini....?
