REAL LIFE NEWS: SHOCK HORROR! VAMPIRES DO NOT EXIST

Scientists do sometimes spend their time on the stupidest things. Presumably in a bid to get his name in the newspapers at this time of year, a physics professor from University of Central Florida has come up with some simple maths which he says prove that vampires do not exist.

You can go and read this news article to find out just how he thinks he has proved this.

Frankly, I consider this a complete waste of time. Yes, as Professor Efthimiou says, a lot of people believe in vampires and other supernatural stuff, but using maths to prove otherwise is not going to make them change their mind - just as explaining the science behind homeopathy doesn't convince true believers it is bunkum. Logic doesn't come into why people believe in weird things!

Still, it makes a cute seasonal news story.
