FEDPARDY

Tuesday December 19
by Fancy-Fancy, Engineer of Toontown

Three players joined me in Studio 1 for the final edition of Fedpardy in 2006. Genike, Yuko, and Tristan were the players this week, with Kblackdragon watching on the channel. I went over the rules of the game for our new players and made sure all understood how to play. Satisfied, I then presented tonight's categories, which were: Industrialist Scrooge, Where am I?, Akaturi Items, and C is for Christmas. Tristan won the honor of selecting first, and started the game with the Industrialist Scrooge category for 1 point.

Yuko rang in first to correctly question that answer, then Genike did the same on the two-point answer. Tristan tried the 3 pointer, but missed, and Genike picked up the points, only to miss on the 4 point answer and see Yuko gain them. Yuko then found the first Daily Double hiding under the 5 point answer, and she decided to make it a true Daily Double for 5 points, and this was the answer:

Whatever Scrooge chooses to produce, he would be able to have his company take advantage of the best prices he can find for it wherever his company has one of these.

Yuko responded, "What is a premium ticker?", but that wasn't correct here. The correct response was, "What is a depot?" That dropper her down to zero, but she maintained the selection, and started the C category. Here she made back the points she lost and more, correctly responding to the 1, 2, 3, and 4 point answers, while Genike grabbed the 5. Genike had also missed on the 2 pointer, and Tristan on the 4-pointer, making the scores at the break Yuko 10, Genike 4, Tristan -7.

Tristan got the first selection of Double Fedpardy as the one trailing, and selected the Where am I? category for 2 to start the round. Nobody tried the 2 pointer, but Genike collected the 4 point answer and missed on the 6, along with Tristan. The players passed on the 8 point answer, but the 10 point answer ended up cementing a big lead for Yuko, as she got it after Tristan and Genike both missed it to go into the hole. That left the Akaturi Items category, and Ike rang in quickly on all of them. He missed on the 2, but got the 4, then missed on the 6, along with Tristan, and ditto on the 10. The last answer on the board was his, and was the other Daily Double. Genike made it worth as much as he could, which was 10 points with his score, and this was the answer:

The model of the computer an Akaturi courier gets asked to carry from one place to another at times.

Genike responded correctly with "What is Commodore 64?", for 10 points. That brought us to the end of Double Fedpardy, and the scores were:

Yuko: 20
Genike: -12
Tristan: -39

Yuko ended up alone in Final Fedpardy, with the opportunity to bet as many of her points as she wanted, given the category of Species in Fed. Yuko decided and registered her wager, and after affirming she was ready, I revealed the night's Final Fedpardy answer:

The mini-zoo features several of this creature, each with fur in a different color, in one of the exhibits.

After the allotted time was up, we took a look at her response, which was, "What are llamas?" A good guess, considering the ones on Brass, but not a correct one. It's the grizzles that were described for the mini-zoo. Yuko wagered 19 points, leaving her with just 1, but that was still enough to win this week's Fedpardy championship.

Congratulations to Yuko as this week's Fedpardy winner! Join me in Studio 1 on the Lattice on alternating Tuesday nights at 10.00pm eastern for FEDPARDY!, and the Fed Phrase Game.
