CRYPTOGRAMS

Saturday January 13
by Catspaws

Ok, lift your hands, or paws! How many of you know that the reception area on Doris is also a bar? Admittedly, it only has vending machines, but it qualifies as a bar. And, since Doris is the only planet in Sol starting with the letter "D", we gathered outside the Doris exchange to throw spitballs at traders and play a game of Cryptograms.

We started the game with Players whose names begin with "D" because I know howwwwwww much everyone loves to warm up with player name puzzles. Fancy and Gwaptiva fired off the answers, and our two new Cryptograms players, Zardoz and Tristan, figured them out as well. I am so proud!

Everyone found the next puzzle easier. Of course, seeing the single letter in the fourth entry rather gave the puzzle away, with Fancy, Gwaptiva and Tristan solving the puzzle.

We lost Zardoz to dinner, but we picked up the ever-tasty Yodabunny. Fancy, Gwaptiva and Tristan solved the Systems puzzle while the bunny kept track of his lucky feet.

UTYTB
UNCTIW

I try to ensure that Cryptograms remains an educational puzzle, so I introduced defense industries commodities as the topic of our fourth puzzle, which didn't prove difficult for Fancy, Gwaptiva or Tristan.

And for our "Can You Think Like Catspaws?" puzzle, they had to figure out things they could do with a droid. Tristan and the Bunny came up with some cute ideas for "_ate it", including Mate it, Gate it, and Hate it. I love how they think!

When the scores were tallied, Fancy came in first, Gwaptiva second, and taking home one of my special reproducing slithy toves, Tristan came in third. Join your favorite kitty hostess each Saturday at 4.00pm eastern for Cryptograms, the game that gives your brain a workout. And, for those who want to brush up your skills so you can beat Fancy, check the Star archives and try to solve some of the past puzzles. Before you know it, you, too will be a Cryptograms champ!
