REAL LIFE NEWS: MOBILE DEVICES ARE BAD FOR ROMANCE

by Hazed

Speaking of romance, which we kind of were what with the talk about dating sites, a report just before Christmas about the use of mobile devices in Northern Ireland shows that as more people spend time working from home, the chances for office romance to blossom are reduced. Awwwww!

The study was carried out by communications firm Damova, and the Managing Director John McCabe said, "There is a strong possibility that romance in the workplace will disappear if people stop coming into the office."

While this may sound as if the company is speaking out against the use of laptops and PDAs, the survey showed that even though Cupid may be banished from the office, 87% of workers said these devices have helped them to improve the balance between their social and professional lives. 52% said the chance to work from home was a most desirable benefit.
