REAL LIFE NEWS: ROBOT-DRIVEN CARS ON THEIR WAY

by Hazed

From robo-pigeons to robo-cars. Scientists are predicting that by the year 2030 robot-controlled cars will be shuttling humans around. The development is already underway, and the first wave of intelligent robot cars will be tested this November in a DARPA competition. The entrants should be capable of understanding and reacting to the world around them - recognizing and avoiding natural hazards and also identifying other cars and understanding that they are not stationary, interacting with them as they get closer.

For more information about what the scientists have been saying about robot cars, see this Physorg news report.
