STOP PRESS: IT'S LATER THAN YOU THINK

by Hazed

Taking many people (and computers) by surprise, last night the clocks went forward an hour in the US and Canada as daylight saving time started. The reason it may come as a surprise is that previously, the clocks haven't changed until the first Sunday in April, but last year the US Congress voted to bring it forward by three weeks. So, daylight saving is now in operation and it's an hour earlier than it was at this time yesterday.

Or something.

If your computer doesn't know that the time change has changed time, you may have to adjust the clock manually. Or you can make sure you have got the Microsoft patch (for Windows computers). More information here: http://articles.techrepublic.com.com/2100-10877_11-6165796.html?tag=nl.e019.

In the UK and the rest of Europe, we've got another two weeks of winter to go: daylight saving starts on Sunday March 25.

PS - Since Fed runs on US eastern time, the Fed clock has also moved forward an hour. This means that the reset today happened 23 hours after yesterday's reset, instead of the usual 24, so companies did not switch over to a new day at today's reset.
