THE MOST FOOLISH DAY OF THE YEAR

by Hazed

Today is April Fool's Day, which has always seemed a particularly apt day to celebrate in Fed2, where we appreciate foolishness. So we've got several things lined up for today, including tonight's amazingly silly party on the surface of the sun.

But first, Catspaws says that she's not planning anything foolish for the role-play class this afternoon at 4.00pm eastern in Chez Diesel on Mars, and that nobody is invited to come anyway, because there will definitely not be any prizes handed out for the most foolish costume, the most foolish joke, or the most foolish mood. So since there'll be nothing happening you shouldn't bother to tell your friends, or to turn up at all.

Then Archer's Fed Radio is going to broadcast The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy starting at 6.00pm. The original BBC radio series, which started the whole phenomenon, lasts for three hours. For details, go to http://www.fed-radio.net/theatre.htm.

And so to the party. The fiery rays of the sun have been turned off by specialist engineers from G Shoddy & Offspring Ltd, and the techdroids promise that there will be absolutely no danger. They've laid on suitable food and drink – free, of course – so come and join Jessecka, the hostess with the mostess (the mostess bubbles, anyway!) at 8.00pm eastern tonight, where there will be a foolish costume contest, and a silly drinking competition, plus a game of truth and dare using Gwaptiva's portable wheel which will be specially adapted to work in space.

Just make sure you leave at the end of the party - don't just go to sleep in a corner, otherwise you'll get fried when the sun gets turned back on tomorrow!
