REAL LIFE NEWS: WINDMILL PHONE CHARGER UPDATE

A few weeks back I reported on a special wind-powered phone charger that was being demoed at the Glastonbury music festival. Now, the company behind this nifty little gadget has said that if there's a demand for it, they may put it into production.

The Orange wind chargers were developed by Ben Jandrell of Gotwind, who designs and builds his own wind turbines as a hobby. Well, I have heard of stranger hobbies I guess! Since news of the windmill phone charger was printed in The Register (that's where I nicked the story from), the interest has been so great that Ben's considering taking the project a stage further. "We are assessing the demand for a wind charger before we commit to production," he said.
