WACKY WORDS - Sunday Edition

Sunday July 8
by Catspaws

Game hostessing can be fun - or not. For the last few months, it's been stressful, because so few people come to the games. And that takes away the fun for the host or hostess, because we put aside other things to make ourselves available to host the games, and to prepare the games each week. So when we prepare a game, and no one comes to play, we don't have a lot of fun. This week I had a blast, because eight people showed up to play Wacky Words, and four for Cryptograms. It was almost as much fun as catching Squeeky in a mousetrap... almost.

Wacky Words is especially fun with a lot of players, because you get a lot of zany and fun answers. This week proved to be a perfect example. Cloudbase guessed the theme on the first word, "Lion", while Fancy's "Lambert instigated overt naughtiness." scored the most points. For the second word, "Tiger," most of the players earned a point, while Nkir's "This is getting extremely rigorous" scored two. (I preferred Davidh's "Tickle industrialists: get emotions riled" as it has the potential for some mischief if put into practice.) The next word was "Manx," and Cloudbase showed an unusual knowledge of Madadder's diet with "Maddadder ate Nuts X-ray," which garnered him four votes.

With "Cougar", newcomer Grannyannie came out of the woodwork and displayed a knowledge I don't even want to ponder, with her "Cloudbase only uses grade a rubbers." earning her five votes. (How does she know this, Cloudie?) A couple of the other odd answers given were Cloudbase's "Caught Out Under Gariosos Anal Region" and Pine's "Calling over-paid, Under-worked Golden Assed Rodents". These people are strange...

The next word was "Siamese," and Fancy garnered five votes while stretching everyone's credibility with "Suddenly Icey admits maybe everyone seems educated." Some of the other great responses were Butters' "She is a menace everywhere she exchanges" (I think he was talking about Lynnea), Pine's "Sex Is Another Mans Excuse, Should Escape" (wonder where his mind was?) and Nkir's cryptic use of long words, which I actually liked best, "Symbiotic intergalatic arabesque methods ensure sure egress." Cloudbase seemed to know a lot about the Siamese system with "Siamese is a mostly erratic system evidently," and Garioso won the Silly Response Award with his "Shoot! I Already Milked Every Sexy Emu."

The last word was "Persian," and Grannieannie scored the most votes with her "Pine Eats Really Slow In Absolute Nudity." (I don't even want to think about a naked pencil!)

When the scores were tallied, Cloudbase came in first, Fancy second, and newcomer Grannyannie walked away with third place and one of my special reproducing slithy toves. Join me again on July 22 for another round of Wacky Words.
