WHERE'S THAT REMOTE CONTROL?

by Hazed

Fresh back from her holiday, Bella is throwing herself headlong into her work. She's got several different things on the go, including the work on the tools to let player write events on their planets, but first she's going to do something that will benefit all POs: remote control.

Right now, you have to be sitting on your planet in order to do anything to its economy - even to look at some of the exchange displays you have to go to the planet itself. For Moguls this means a constant commute back and forth between two planets, but even for Founders and Engineers it's a nuisance because it cuts down on socialising. How can you go visit a friend, gather a group in a bar, or go to a wild party, if you constantly have to return to your home world to tweak the exchange?

Over the next couple of weeks, the most commonly used PO commands will be re-coded so you can use them with a planet name. This means that - provided you own the named planet - you can operate your exchange from anywhere in the Galaxy.

What's more, there'll be no danger of losing the remote control down the back of the sofa, or leaving it in your spaceship!

Let's hope this will see the return of those wild parties and Galactic bar crawls we used to love so much. Expect to see the first of the remote control planet commands next weekend.
