FEDERGORIES

Thursday September 12
by Cloudbase

Tonight's mantle fell upon Deklax, Altman, Fievel Fancy, Sephorin and Stiddleficks all competing for the prize of a Slithy Tove.

Round 1 kicked off with us looking for a fruit. Altman opted for a Pineapple, Fancy a Banana, whilst Fievel went for a Kiwi, each gaining a point. Round 2 was a Bonus Round, Olympic Track and Field events. Each player submitted a large number of answers, and after the matches (and the Fed player-invented Olympic sports such as Pogo stick) had been removed, the scorers were Fancy and Sephorin who gained two points each, whilst Fievel and Altman both scored a single point.

Round 3 was our first Federgory round in which we sought systems starting with the letter 'S'. Deklax, Altman, Fievel, Fancy and Sephorin all scored. Round 4 turned out to be a tough one, harder for the players than I had expected it to be. With our very own David Beckham having joined LA Galaxy and hoping to raise the profile of soccer in the US, I thought I might test that knowledge and asked the players to name an English Soccer team - alas, only Fancy was able to provide an answer, Manchester United, making him the sole scorer that round (while I realized the scale of the task David Beckham has taken on!). Round 5 saw us seeking a type of meat and the same five players scored here.

Scores at the halfway point were Stiddleficks and Deklax 1 point, Altman with 3 points, Fievel and Sephorin with 4 points and Fancy in the lead with 6 points.

The second half started with us seeking Car Manufacturers. Fancy went for Toyota, Altman a Suzuki, Fievel opted for a Saturn whilst Sephorin stylishly chose a Rolls Royce, Deklax chose Dongfeng. After some deliberation (and checking Wickpedia) this was decided to be in fact a bone fide albeit unusual answer, being a Chinese manufacturer. The next round found us clearing out rotting food from our refrigerators. Fieval and Altman matched on chicken meals leaving Fancy and Sephorin to score a point each with Artichoke and Fish respectively.

Round 8 was another Federgory round as we sought commands starting with the letter 'B'; Fievel and Fancy cancelled each other out with the BUY command, Altman scored with BOARD and Deklax did too with BRIEF. In Round 9 we sought a European Country and 4 players scored here. Altman however tried to convince us that Milan was not in fact a city in Italy, but an independent state. While being tempted to award a point for his sheer audacity, I did manage to resist the temptation. Round 10 was our third Federgory of the night, as we searched for Player names beginning with the letter 'B', and Fancy, Deklax, Sephorin and Fievel all scored.

We went into the final round with the game hanging in the balance, a good score in this round was the difference between winning and not, and so our players played the bonus round trying to identify as many unique vegetables as possible. Altman saw ALL his answers cancelled out, Deklax was left with 2, Fancy with 4, Fievel scored 7 and Sephorin came in with an impressive list earning her 8 points.

So the scores were tallied and the top three players this week were, Fancy and Fievel who tied for second place with 14 points, and this week's winner with 16 points was Sephorin who took home her very own slithy tove.

Join me next Thursday night at 10.00pm eastern to try and win a slithy for yourself, just join the Federgories Channel to play.
