REAL LIFE NEWS: LIFE IMITATES FED

by Hazed

Once again, something that we invented in Fed DataSpace looks like coming true out in the real world. Japanese researchers have invented an interactive table and chairs which can change color - which sounds a bit like the decor in the Morph bar on Phobos!

This chameleon furniture uses sensors embedded in the table-top to work out the color of items placed upon it, and then the color of the stools changes to match. Sensors in the stools also work out the weight of the people sitting on them, and the heavier bottoms are treated to darker shades.

More details, together with a picture, on the BBC news web site.
