MING LIVES!

by Lagkiller

(Risking life an limb (and higher insurance premiums!), this article was brought to you only through heroic acts of heroism. It took me no less than 3 boxes of chocolate given to the editor as a distraction so that I could slip this piece of covered up news into the Star at the last minute.)

It has come to my attention that the newsdroids in the Fed2 Star office have been tampered with intentionally to mis-report the "news" in an effort to keep the masses blind to the real truth! Unintentional malfunctions are one thing, but this goes to the core of the Galactic Administration and no doubt is part of the SLITHY Act (Silencing Large Information Through Horrible Yammering)! This practice must not be tolerated any longer and as such, I shall bring you the real news.

The first of these untold truths is that Ming, the once emperor of the universe, is still living. He lives on a small planet in "uncharted" space. Access is prevented by the wandering "Sol Customs Inspection" - why else do you think they were stopping random ships and checking your nav comp? Oh yes my friends, the Sol Customs Cruiser is none other than Ming's Imperial bodyguard! The planet was created for Ming by a source this reporter can only call S. Larti.

The planet itself is huge, which is why you are prevented from venturing into uncharted space. It is so vastly huge that it can be seen from the edge of so-called "charted" space. According to the GA, this is no more than an interstellar core fragment left over from a supernova star. But this reporter knows better, so after obtaining a navcomp from a particularly intoxicated soldier at the Cantina one evening, I set out for "uncharted space".

After docking with my ship and installing the navcomp, I proceeded cautiously to find the truth. As I approached the furthest reaches of space that I have ever visited I detected a customs ship making its approach to my ship. I quickly removed the pirated computer and replaced my own, hiding the forbidden one in the glove compartment. After a lengthy discussion as to why my navcomp was dangling out of its case and how many drinks it takes before one can plug a navcomp back in correctly, the customs officer let me go, on the other side of the solar system! Trudging back, and redoing all that had been undone, my ship flew effortlessly into "uncharted space".

The planet before me, I jumped to my feet to get into my shuttle, but before I could head for the ground I was accosted by 3 Imperial cruisers. Quad lasers trained on my little ship, and not knowing if my insurance covered trips past the border, I gave up and was escorted back to Earth. I did however manage to take pictures of the base from orbit on the planet! Sadly, the judge ordered them seized with the rest of my ship for "stealing" a military navigational computer. Stealing? How unfair - I paid 5 slithies for it!

Just more proof of a GA cover up, and the things they want nobody to know. The truth is out there.
