Four players stepped up to the challenge on the return of Federgories this week: they were Lagkiller, Grimreaper, Dougal and Fancy.
Round 1 kicked off with us looking for an item of fruit with Lagkiller, Grimreaper and Dougal all taking an early joint lead. The first bonus round of the game came next with a search for films starring Sylvester Stallone. Lagkiller and Grimreaper scored 5 and 4 respectively with Dougal's answers all getting cancelled out. The third round was the first of three Federgories and both the scorers from the last round extended their score as we sought systems in Fed starting with the letter C. Round 4 saw each player grabbing a point apiece and in Round 5 Lagkiller was the only scorer as each of the three other players cancelled each other's answers as we looked for colors of the rainbow. So at the halfway mark we saw Lagkiller with a two point lead over Grimreaper and Fancy at this point bringing up the rear.
The second half kicked off with another Federgories round as we sought player names starting with the letter S, each player scoring with a unique answer. Round 7 saw only Fancy and Lagkiller score as we sought European capital cities, with Grimreaper and Dougal canceling each other out with London. Round 8 was yet another Federgories as we tried to establish Fed 2 commands that start with the letter U with only Dougal drawing a blank this time. Round 9 saw Lagkiller as the only scorer as the other players cancelled each other out as we sought beverages starting with the letter C.
So onto the final round and with it being a bonus round, every player still stood a chance of winning with a good score here. The category was Countries on the African continent. After a high number of answers and submissions being cancelled out by duplication, Fancy leapt two places with a score of 16 points to take the game. The final standings were:
Fancy - 22
Lagkiller - 21
Grimreaper - 13
Dougal - 4
A slithy tove was awarded to Lagkiller who had held the lead right till the last round.
