Four players showed up on the Federgories Channel for tonight's game: they were Andrew, Anglefowl, Monodefuego and Bourbon. The theme was chosen as a result of the Primaries taking place - even in the UK, its the top story!! So we went with USA.
In Round one we tested the players' knowledge of the nominees for the Republican party, Andrew, Monofuego and Bourbon all scoring here. In round 2 we sought the states that would be voting in 'Super Tuesday' in our first bonus round. Andrew scored 3 here, Monofuego got a double and Bourbon the single point. Round 3 was our first Federgory of the night as I asked for players' names starting with the letter K. Angelfowl and Monofuego cancelled each other out with 'Kalandra' leaving Andrew and Bourbon to score 2 points each. Round 4 saw us even up on the political stakes as we sought nominees from the Democrat party and each player scored this round. Round 5 saw us seeking a US state commencing with the letter 'N', again all players scored this round.
At the halfway point, Andrew and Bourbon shared the lead, with Monodefuego a point behind.
Round 6 saw the second half of the game start with our second Federgory of the night as we looked for locations on Sumatra starting with the letter 'D', and only Andrew scoring with Data Centre. Andrew and Bourbon were the only scorers in the next round as we looked for previous US Presidents whose first name started with the letter 'J'. Round 8 was the third Federgory of the night as I asked for commodities starting with the letter 'S'. In round 9, Andrew and Bourbon were the sole scorers again as they identified US National Holidays, taking us into the final round which was the second bonus round of the night. The topic was films by Will Smith and Andrew managed a creditable 3 and Bourbon scored 1.
The scores were totaled and Andrew declared the winner with 15 points, and he collected a slithy for his achievement. Bourbon came in second with 9 points and Monodefuego (who was called away with 2 rounds still to play) managed a creditable third with 5 points.
