LOG OF A CRASH VICTIM

Editors Note: Through the miracle of modern science, a log was obtained of the thoughts of a Fed2 player as he experienced the recent crash. The following is an excerpt of that log.

Groan. What time is it? Five. Great. How late was I up last night? Well, better check the planet and get ready for work. Ok, out of bed, go east to the door... press touchpad... OUCH!... Damn door... Its OPEN door not press touchpad. Groan. Open door, go east, go north, go west. Act sit down at computer table. Alright, let's see what's happening in Fed. That's strange. I'm signed off. Oh well, I'll just reconnect. Asynchronous error!! What the Hell. No. Let me try again. Damn. Ok, get a hold of yourself. Take a deep breath... Dammit, it's not logging on.

Ok, mental check, router... ok lights are on, so it's routing. Modem lights are flashing. Cable bill is paid. Damn... still no Fed. Let me see... I know... I'll see if I can get on using a telnet. Oh no. It's not working either. Ok, it's probably ok. It's just an internet thing. I'll just boot up explorer and... Lord help me... I'm getting to my Home page. Maybe I didn't click the right way on to Fed... yeah, that's it, I'll click more softly. Ok, now a little harder. Click... Click.... Click... Click... Arrggh.... What am I going to do?

I hope the planet is ok. I wonder how much it made yesterday? Damn, it's still not working. Ok, I'll just give it a rest for a few minutes. Hmmm... Let me think of something else... What else is there to think about besides Fed? Sports! That's it. I'll think about Sports, like bowling... and the Sports System. Is Fed still down? Damn! What am I going to do? Ok, besides go to work. Is it going to be down for a while? Like an hour? What am I going to do for an hour?

It's ok, I can handle this. I'll just get some coffee. Go east, go south, go east, go south, go west. Act fill coffee pot. I wonder how the planet is doing. Maybe it's back up! I better check. Act puts down coffee pot. Go east, go north, go west, go north, go west. Act sits down at computer table. Click. Arrggg... What am I going to do? Go east, go south, go east, go south, go west. Act picks up coffee pot. Act brews coffee. I better check Fed while the coffee is brewing. Go east, go north, go west, go north, go west. Act sits down at computer table. Groan. Still no Fed. Well, coffee should be ready. Go east, go south, go east, go south, go west. Act pours a cup of coffee. Ahhh... coffee. Kind of reminds me of... Sumatra. Wonder if Fed us up yet. I better check. Go east, go north, go west, go north, go west. Act sits down at computer table. Nothing.

Think! Options. I could go to work... But what if Fed comes back on while I'm at work? What if they need to restore my character? I should check my logs and see if I have enough information for that. Is it back up yet? Damn. Should I get dressed? It may come back any minute... Ok, last time I'll check, then I'll get ready for work. Darn... still nothing. Ok, one more time... maybe one more... alright this is the last time... just one more. Wait a second... could it be? YES!!!! Sigh. Ok, di planet...

And my wife says I have a Fed problem. I can handle being off of Fed. No big deal here. Omigosh! I'm late for work. I'd better run!
