AUTO-PROMO NO GO

Let me state categorically, with absolute authority, that the auto-promotion mechanism for planet owners is not in operation.

Honest - it's not!

Bella has yet not written the code to force a promotion on POs who have completed all the necessary builds for their rank. It's on the list of stuff to do, but she hasn't got around to it yet.

I don't know why people persist in thinking that the auto-promo code is in operation, but they do. No doubt even after reading this definitive denial, the belief in it will continue, like that in the Easter bunny, or the tooth fairy, or Ming still being alive after all these years.

Perhaps one source of confusion is the fact that the 'PROMOTE' command can be used both to find out if you have enough builds to promote, and to actually queue up the promotion, so it could be that sometimes people use the command for the former reason, without realizing they actually have got enough builds and so have triggered the promotion.

But really, auto-promote doesn't work. Would I lie to you? Trust me, I'm the demi-goddess.
