EVEN MORE IMPORTANT: USE TESLA

by Hazed

Before you submit your new bio planet to be linked into the game, you **MUST** run it through the most up to date version of the Tesla planet checker. The latest version for Windows is 0.75; you can tell which version you currently have by running the program and looking at the title bar. It should say:

Tesla - Federation 2 File Checker - Version 0.75

If you have a lower number, then upgrade to the latest version of Tesla here.

It is important to run your files through the checker before sending them to us, even if you have just made a little tiny change to existing files. When you are adding a new planet to your system, there are a lot more things that you can get wrong, even if you are convinced that you know what you are doing.

The most common errors in the bio planets I have had to reject over the past week have been:

  • Space map - forgetting to set the space property on the new orbit location for the bio planet
  • Planet map - forgetting to change the orbit location # information, or changing it but getting the format wrong
  • Forgetting to set the exchange property on the exchange location

These are things that the new version of Tesla will complain about, but previous versions will not, which is why you need to get the most up to date version.

Mac users, whose version of Tesla does not check for so many things, should include the info that you are using a Mac in the email - then I won't be so harsh if I have to reject a planet because of an error that Windows Tesla shows!
