SOMETIMES SMALL THINGS ARE RECORDS TOO

by Hazed

The Fed2 Hall of Fame (and Shame) is chock full of entries for the biggest something, the greatest, the largest, the most... a whole lot of excess. But sometimes records don't celebrate the gargantuan: sometimes the tiny little things can be records too.

Take this entry on the SpyNet Financial recently:

Double D Limited has been hit for 30 ig excess profits tax!

That must be the smallest amount of money the taxman has swiped from a company. You'd think the cost of the action, overheads and so on, would make it uneconomical to go after such a tiny little sum of groats. But I guess it's the principle of the thing - if he fails to confiscate excess profits, even when they amount to such a piddling little amount, it would ruin his reputation!

This record for the smallest ever confiscation has now been added to the Hall of Fame (and Shame). Thanks to Squeeky for drawing it to my attention.
