FEDPARDY

Tuesday May 20
by Fancy-Fancy, Technocrat of Toontown

Three players joined me for tonight's edition of FEDPARDY! Jewells, Munabilo, and Joe came to Studio 1 to play. Jewells expressed a need for the rules, so I went over them for everyone. Then I told everyone the categories we had tonight - Mercury, Wings on Thy Feet!; Symbols and Logos; Sol Objects; and G Whiz. And then the players spun the wheel for who would get the first selection, and Joe won that honor.

Joe picked Mercury, Wings on Thy Feet! for 1 to start the game, and Jewells got it after Munabilo responded incorrectly. Jewells then selected G Whiz for 1. Munabilo rang in to get it as the first of seven straight correct responses. It ran the G Whiz category and the 1 and 2 from Symbols and Logos before missing the 3 pointer along with Joe. Symbols and Logos for 4 got passed to finish the first half. Munabilo led at the half with 14 points to -2 for Jewells, and -3 for Joe.

Joe got to select first in Double Fedpardy, and selected Mercury for 4. Munabilo got that one, and started Sol Objects for 2. Nobody tried the 2 pointer, but Jewells and Joe both responded incorrectly on the 4 pointer. Symbols for 10, Mercury for 6, Mercury for 8, and Objects for 6 all got passed until Munabilo found a Daily Double in Sol Objects. It decided to bet 5 points, and this was the answer:

You might be able to get one of these, and draw compliments from certain characters who see you with it. And certain felines will want to eat it.

Munabilo got it right with, "What is a marsrat?" to add 5 points, and promptly found the other Daily Double in Mercury. Munabilo decided to risk 3 points on this one, and the answer was:

Imagine a weapon, and this ex-space marine has it on sale. No truth to the rumor she has a relative named Davy.

Munabilo responded, "who is Crockett?" to get it correct for 3 more points. The last answer on the board, Sol Objects for 10, got passed by everybody, and the scores after Double Fedpardy were:

Munabilo: 26
Jewells: -6
Joe: -7

Munabilo advanced to Final Fedpardy alone, with the category Planetary Builds to aid its betting decision. When it had decided its wager and verified it was ready, I revealed tonight's Final Fedpardy answer:

The only build that directly increases consumption of a specific commodity.

When 60 seconds were up, we checked Munabilo's response - "What is Defence?" It was correct. Its wager was all 26 points, doubling its score to 52 for this week's Fedpardy championship! (This may be a new record) Thanks to Munabilo, Jewells, and Joe for playing. I hope to see you again June 3 at 10.00pm eastern for our next exciting edition of FEDPARDY!
