REAL LIFE NEWS: SELF-INFLICTED AUTO-INFLICTED WOUNDS

by Hazed

Speaking of phenomenon, here's one that sounds like it should be impossible, but seems to happen quite often: people who run themselves over.

This latest story is more involved than the usual scenario of: man forgets to set parking brake, care rolls off on its own and mows down the owner. In this case, technology was involved.

A 32-year-old Canadian man parked his car in a drugstore carpark and started to walk to the store. As he walked away from the car, he pushed the alarm button on his keychain. Or so he thought. Actually, he activated the car's remote starter by mistake. He'd left it in gear so when the engine started, it rolled forward... straight towards its owner. It hit him and pinned him against a van, where he was forced to stay until emergency vehicles arrived to free him. He was taken to hospital with back and leg injuries; both vehicles suffered minor damage.

He really did do everything wrong, didn't he?
