FEDPARDY

Tuesday July 29
by Fancy-Fancy, Technocrat of Toontown

I got three players for tonight's Fedpardy, Meteu, Dinger, and Tenabutter. Beandip also tuned into the channel to watch tonight. As we had new players this week, I went over the rules and made sure there were no outstanding questions on how to play, then revealed the categories: I-Spy, The Rhea World, When Born by the Red, White, and Blue, and Commands. Meteu won the first selection by spinning the high number on the wheel, and chose Commands for 1 to start.

All three players tried, but missed that first answer, going into the hole. Meteu got the 2 point answer to go on the plus side only to miss the 3 point answer with everybody else. Meteu switched to the Rhea World for 1 next, but missed on it along with Tenabutter. Meteu went with I-Spy for 1 next, and Dinger was able to get it. Dinger selected Rhea World for 2, and Meteu got it correct. Meteu proceeded to get Red, White, and Blue for 3 and Commands for 4 correct. Meteu and Dinger, however both missed on Commands for 5, and Tenabutter got it right to get out of the hole. Red, White, and Blue for 1 was the last selection of the first half, and everyone passed on trying it, bringing us to the break. Meteu led at the break with 1 point, followed by Tenabutter with 0, and Dinger with -8.

Dinger got the first selection of Double Fedpardy, with the point value of all remaining answers doubled. He selected I-Spy for 4 to start it off and rang in on it, but couldn't give the correct question, so he lost 4 on it. Meteu missed on the 6, but got the 8 after Tenabutter took too much time in responding to it. Meteu selected Red, White, and Blue for 4, but missed it, and Dinger took advantage and got it. Dinger selected Rhea World for 10. Meteu attempted it, but missed. Tenabutter and Dinger both missed on the 8. Dinger and Meteu tried and missed I-Spy for 10, losing 10 points each. With three answers left, Dinger found the first of two Daily Doubles with the last one in Rhea World. He decided to go for the maximum he could in his situation, 10 points, and this was the answer:

The crystal caves feature numerous formations, including one in the Grand Hall resembling this creature.

His response of "What is Peg?" was incorrect, however, so it cost him 10. (The correct answer is, a marillion.) Dinger tried Red, White, and Blue for 10, and missed it. The left the other Daily Double on the board for Dinger. He chose once again to risk 10 on the answer, and it was:

At the hyperspace link, you can see a pulsing circle in this color that indicates the link entry.

But he didn't get this one either, and dropped another 10 points. (The answer is blue.) That brought us to the end of Double Fedpardy, and what turned out to be our final scores were:

Tenabutter: -16
Meteu: -21
Dinger: -56

We had nobody with any points to risk in a Final Fedpardy, though we did play it for fun at the players' request. (Meteu was able to get it correct.)

Join us on August 12, beginning at 10.00pm eastern for our next edition of FEDPARDY! And on August 5, join us in Studio 1 for the Fed Phrase Game.
