PLANET HOPPING REVIEW

Movies in the Entertainment System
Ritual in The Rift System
by Trilleth

Continuing my mini-reviews from last week...

MOVIES

A planet for movie production... have to admit, I was rather excited to visit this one. I did get a bit dismayed when I was tricked into an exchange-gift shop combination, thinking I'd do a little shopping, but I survived the close brush with w@&% and moved on. The food at Movie Munchies was relatively inexpensive, but the restrooms are out of order! I ran back to my ship in double-time and vowed to eat elsewhere next time. Apparently there's a big production in the works on the planet itself, so I didn't get to see everything, but I was told by a tourist-friendly ex-actor that things should be opened up again in the future.

RATINGS
Food: 6. There's food and it's way overpriced and only mildly edible, but it's easy to access. Just stay in easy reach of your ship. I'd wait and dine on the planet itself.
People: 4. They're all ex-actors and trained to be overly friendly, so expect to be bombarded with happy, sappy fake smiles. I felt right at home. ;)
Beds: 0. I found no beds, although I'm sure there has to be one in the areas I couldn't access. Even actors sleep in a bed occasionally, right?
Water feature: 8. Found a huge fountain, only marred by the statue in the middle. That was a big enough feature for me.
NOTE: Planet is not finished. Worth a visit later.

RITUAL

I don't like hurricanes. I don't like scary things. Ritual has both aplenty. I managed to convince Joe to visit the planet with me and hold my hand. It got even scarier when I ended up in orientation. A lot of big words later, I was about ready to flee the planet, but put on my steel-toed boots and persevered. I strongly advise using the buddy system... caves, scary things... did I mention scary things? When I finally escaped, smelling strongly of Eau de Propellant Sludge and rubbing my backside surreptitiously, I vowed to never visit a planet with that much coffee again. Then Joe and I went home to Java for the night.

RATINGS:
Food: 4. Cappuccinos? I don't WANT a cappucchino! Coffee is ev... er, sorry. Coffee is delicious and I'm thrilled that Ritual offers it (now stop glaring at me, Joe!) although it really should be Javan coffee. (Journalistic freedom totally disappears with marriage, apparently).
People: 4. Lots of whispers. Very few smiles. Not a strong selling point to tourists. The matron with the needle... definitely not a winner!
Bed: 0. No bed? Does no one want me to stay overnight? On second thought, I didn't really want to stay overnight here myself.
Water feature: 8. There's a lovely waterfall and a few rivulets here and there. Enough to keep this girl happy, at least.
NOTE: Puzzle hints abound. Worth a visit at a later time.
