REAL LIFE NEWS: LATE NIGHT INSPIRATION

by Hazed

If you find your brain slowing down in the afternoon; if you feel uninspired and unlikely to have a brainwave; if your creative juices are at a low ebb - you are not alone. Apparently, brainwaves are least likely to strike during the afternoon hours, according to a recent survey. It turns out that 4.33pm is the least creative time of the day.

The most creative, apparently, is 10.04pm. These times are the result of a poll of 1,426 people carried out by the Crowne Plaza hotel chain.

I have to say, those figures sound suspiciously exact - my guess is that people gave a whole variety of times around the 4.30pm and 10.00pm mark, and whoever compiled the stats averaged them. Score one for misuse of statistics.

44% of those questioned said that their most popular way of getting the creative juices flowing was to take a shower in order to nudge the brain into making a breakthrough. Sadly, 58% of people's brainwaves are wasted because they fail to write them down right away and then forget them. The favourite method of ensuring inspirational ideas are not forgotten is, apparently, to write them on the back of your hands!

How primitive. What's wrong with a beermat?
