PICTURE OF THE WEEK: PHOENIX LANDER X-RAY

The Phoenix Lander which is sitting at the Martian north pole and conducting all kinds of tests on the environment around it has a complex suite of instruments, including a portable laboratory to analyze soil samples, a robotic arm to collect them in the first place, a microphone, cameras, and so on and so forth.
During its journey to Mars and its descent to the surface of the red planet, all of that kit was safely tucked away inside the lander. Now an artist has painted an impression of how the bits all pack together: an x-ray image which shows its insides. Take a look at this incredibly detailed image here.
