CREDIT CRUNCH HAS ONE POSITIVE SIDE-EFFECT

by Hazed

As the world's economies go down the toilet, and the prospect of a full-blown recession looks ever-more likely, everybody is tightening their belts and looking for ways to save money. This is bad news for Fed2, because spending on slithy toves is way down.

However, those who have a subscription to Fed2 so they get slithies every month are actually seeing some benefit, because the change in the dollar-pound exchange rate has lowered the cost of the monthly slithies for Americans. The charge is made in pounds sterling (because the bureaux that processes the subs is in the UK) so the cost of £8.00 per month varies for Americans, depending on the exchange rate at the time. Right now, that converts to $12.9296, which gets you four slithy toves each month - a big discount when to make a spot purchase of four slithies would cost you $20.

Given that there are more things to spend slithy toves on now, in the form of the new tiny hadron collider charm from Gallaghers on Earth, and the ghost charm from the craftsman in CDs on Mars (only available for another day), this could be a good time to take out a subscription to Fed2. That way, you'll be ensuring you get a regular supply of slithies at a hefty discount, and helping us to pay the bills that keep the game running.
