FEDPARDY

Tuesday November 4
by Fancy-Fancy, Technocrat of Toontown

We got three players for tonight's edition of FEDPARDY! Jazir, Tenabutter, and Gandroid all showed up to play. As they all knew the rules already, we went right to the categories. They were: "R, Matey!", Wall Treatments, Magellan, and Fed Eateries. Tenabutter got the high spin on the studio wheel to gain the first selection. Tena selected Wall Treatments for 1, and the game was underway.

Jazir rang in to win the first point. Gandroid lost a point with an incorrect question on the next answer, from Magellan. Tena got the 5-pointer in the category, and then started "R, Matey!" for 1, which Jazir got. Going back to Magellan, the 4 pointer ended up being passed, while Jazir missed and Tenabutter got the 3-pointer. Tena selected R for 2, Jazir got it, and finished off Magellan for 2, which Tena got. The 1 and 2 point answers from Fed Eateries brought us to the break. Tenabutter led with 12 points to Jazir's 2 and Gandroid's -1.

As Gandroid trailed at the end of the Fedpardy round, it got to select first in the Double Fedpardy round. It promptly found the first of two Daily Doubles in "R, Matey!", and decided to risk the maximum 10 points for someone with less than that in Double Fedpardy. Its answer was:

The nickname for the giant dome where buffalo may roam on Rhea where vast herds of animals have their home and graze on the grass covering the ground.

Gandroid took a stab at it, and got it with, "What is the Range?" It next selected R for 8, which no one tried, and then 10, which Jazir tried but missed. Wall Treatments was next, with nobody trying the 4-pointer, and Tenabutter missing on the 6-pointer. Gandroid then found the other Daily Double in Wall Treatments. Leading 9-6, it decided to go for a true Daily Double and bet 9. The answer was:

Real wood panels have been imported from Earth to line the walls of this place, and the room is dotted with marble statues of classical figures.

Gandroid didn't come up with anything this time, let alone the Hotel Magnifico, losing 9 points and dropping to zero. Gandolf then finished off Wall Treatments with the 10 point answer, which all passed over. Gandroid then selected Eateries for 10, which everyone passed, followed by the 8 pointer, which stumped Tenabutter and Gandroid for 8 points each. The last answer on the board went unattempted to bring us to the end of Double Fedpardy.

After Double Fedpardy, Tenabutter had -2 points, Jazir -8, and Gandroid -8. Nobody had any points to risk, so that meant our game was over tonight. Join us November 18 at 10.00pm eastern for our next edition of FEDPARDY! And don't forget the Fed Phrase Game at the same time on November 11.
