FEDPARDY!

Tuesday March 10
by Fancy-Fancy, Technocrat of Toontown

I got four players joining me in Studio 1 for tonight's edition of FEDPARDY! Jezz, Squeeky, Dingbat, and Munabilo all came to the studio to play and watch. Munabilo let it be known he was just watching, as he would need to leave before the game finished, so Jezz, Squeeky, and Dingbat were the players. I went over the rules for Dingbat, and anyone else who needed a refresher on the rules. With how to play explained, I then revealed tonight's categories - This Just In, F Words, The Galactic Administration, and Colorful Colonies. Spinning for the chance to select first, Jezz won that honor, and selected F Words, for 1, to start.

Jezz beat the others to the buzzer and got the 1 and 2 pointers in F Words to get the first three points. Dingbat followed by getting the 3, and Squeeky the 4. The mouse started the Galactic Administration category, and Dingbat got that one, and selected F Words for 5 to finish off the category. Jezz attempted it, but got it wrong to go into the red. Dingbat went back to the GA for 2, and Jezz tried that one, but got it wrong, enabling Dingbat to ring in and get it right. Continuing with the category for 3, Dingbat found the first of two Daily Doubles. He decided to risk 3 of his points, and this was the answer:

You can find William March Tweed, better known by this nickname, in charge of the planning and zoning department.

Dingbat responded, "What is Bill?", a logical guess, but not the correct one. Jezz badly wanted to ring in and respond, but as it was a Daily Double for Dingbat only, she had to content herself with saying she knew it was "boss". Dingbat selected the 4 next, and Jezz got it, but then missed the 5 to fall back in the negatives as we came to the break before Double Fedpardy. Squeeky led with 4, followed by Dingbat with 3, and Jezz with -5. Jezz got first selection of Double Fedpardy from being the one trailing everyone else, and started the Colorful Colonies category for two. Squeeky got that one correct, and continued with the category. Jezz scored the 4 pointer, Squeeky missed the 6, Dingbat got the 8, and Jezz the 10. That left This Just In. Jezz got the 2 and 4 point answers there, nobody tried the 6, and then Jezz found the other Daily Double under the 8. Leading 15-11 over Dingbat, she decided to risk 4 points, and this was the answer:

Amidst the fields and pastures of Rhea, you might find your way in here, hearing the proprietor Joe Bob welcoming you and asking what he can get you, all in one breath.

She got it correct, sufficiently identifying Joe Bob's General Store, to gain 4 points. That left the last answer on the board. Squeeky gave it a try, which if successful would have put the mouse into Final Fedpardy, but it didn't get it right, losing 10 points instead, and no one else tried it. That made the scores after Double Fedpardy:

Jezz: 19
Dingbat: 11
Squeeky: -10

Jezz and Dingbat advanced to Final Fedpardy, with the chance to wager as many of their points as desired, and to help them decide their wagers, the category tonight was: * Sol Objects and Mobiles *. Once they had made their wagers, I had briefed them on how Final Fedpardy worked, admonished them to make sure they phrased their responses in the form of a question, and they verified they were ready, we saw tonight's Final Fedpardy answer:

There are several chatty characters around the Solar system, but only this one can talk about something for hours on end, leaving you noticeably hungrier by the time the character finishes talking.

After 60 seconds, we started with Dingbat, who entered in second place. His response went, "oooh, I don't know...what is Tracey?". A good guess, but not the right one. Dingbat's wager was all 11 of his points, leaving him with nothing.

That brought us to Jezz. She wrote down for her response, "who is Menella?" That was right! Jezz wagered 4 points, giving her 23, and assured her of winning this week's Fedpardy championship. Congratulations to Jezz on first place, and Dingbat on second. Thanks to all who played, and Munabilo who watched, and made the game exciting. Join me again March 24, at 10 p.m. Eastern, for the next exciting edition of FEDPARDY! And don't forget the Fed Phrase Game, running on St. Patrick's Day March 17, beginning at 10 p.m. Something tells me a road show will be in order for that one...
