A FED2 SUBSCRIPTION IS A REAL BARGAIN FOR AMERICANS

by Hazed

As I am sure you know - because I go on about it every month or so in the Fed2 Star - although Fed2 is free to play, we still have bills to pay, such as the monthly cost from the hosting company that provides the server and the internet connection, and annual costs to do with the company's existence. Moving the game to the UK has reduced those costs, but not eliminated them.

As you also know, we get the money to pay those costs by selling slithy toves. These are tokens that you can exchange in the game for goods and services, such as the always-useful navcomp upgrade that lets you zoom between Sol planets, and the coveted teleporter.

If you buy slithy toves, everybody benefits. You benefit, because of the neat things you get with them. We benefit, because we can afford to keep the game going.

What you may not have realized, though, is that if you reside in the US, right now a monthly subscription to purchase regular slithies is a real bargain. It's all because the global recession has affected the exchange rate. Slithy subscriptions are charged in UK pounds, and right now your US dollars will get you more UK pounds than they used to.

The 8 UKP charge right now works out to around $12 a month (it used to be $16). That gets you four slithy toves. If you buy the slithies as a spot purchase, you'd have to pay $20 to get four slithies. So they are practically half price. What a deal!

To take advantage of this bargain, go here and click the SUBSCRIBE button.
