REAL LIFE NEWS: ARE YOU OKAY TO KISS?

by Hazed

So you're heading out on a date with someone and you think - you hope - that it may end up with a kiss. You're nervous and you can't help worrying that something about that kiss will end in disaster. Will that garlic bread you had last night come back to haunt you and ruin the moment? There's nothing for it: you have to perform a sniff test. So you blow in your hand and then smell it, hoping to check if there's anything offensive about the odor...

It's not very reliable, is it? But now an Israeli scientist has come up with something much more certain: a small breathalyzer-style test device that checks your breath for badness, thus putting an end to stress and uncertainty. The gadget is called "OkayToKiss".

The plan is that the OkayToKiss would be about the size of a pack of chewing gum. In order to check the fragrancy - or not - of your breath, you dab a bit of saliva onto a small window on the kit. If unpleasant bacteria of the sort that lead to mouth odor are present, the test kit will turn blue - in which case you know you are definitely not OkayToKiss!

The Professor who has come up with this idea, Mel Rosenberg of Tel Aviv university, thinks OkayToKiss should be ready to go on sale in about a year. I am sure it will sell well.
