FED PHRASE GAME

Tuesday September 1
by Fancy-Fancy, Technocrat of Toontown

Three players showed up for the return of Fed Events with tonight's Fed Phrase Game. Squeeky was in the studio waiting for me. Valtralys and Occy joined us, while Silversims watched on the channel. Everyone seemed already familiar with how to play, so we jumped right to setting the playing order. Squeeky got the first slot, followed by Occy, then Valtralys.

Our first puzzle was a 4 word phrase (4, 2, 7, and 6 letters), which Squeeky got to start. Its first spin was not auspicious, though, landing on Lose a Turn. Occy took over and found a T for 1000, but then picked a W not in the puzzle to end his turn. Valtralys found an N, R, pair of S's, pair of D's, and bought the E's before an M not in the puzzle ended his turn. Squeeky got the puzzle back and uncovered a P for 150 before landing on another Lose a Turn space. Occy spun 700, but couldn't capitalize with a B. Valtralys got the puzzle a second time, but landed on Bankrupt. Squeeky tried F, only to come up empty. Occy bought the O's, then placed a couple C's, and bought the U's, then tried to solve, but did so incorrectly. Valtralys got the puzzle a third time, spun and landed on Free Spin, and picked it up by placing the last letter in the puzzle, and solved it - used to produce clones - for the house minimum 250 points.

The second puzzle was a 4 word thing (9, 6, 7, and 7 letters). We were back to Squeeky to start the puzzle. It found a pair of T's for 300 each, then a pair of S's for 600 each before a Bankrupt wiped out that score. Occy took over and found R's, N's, a U, O, H, C, L, two A's, four I's, an F, and two Y's for 2150 total points, but a B missing from the puzzle ended his turn and turned the puzzle over to Valtralys. He found an M for 750, two D's for 300 each, a P for another free spin, and a V to fill in the last letter, then solved - privately-funded charity mission - to win Round 2 for 1650 points more.

Our third puzzle was also our final puzzle, a 2 word person (12 and 7 letters), which Squeeky was again up next to start. Squeeky tried an R, but there were none. Occy was away, so after waiting a few minutes, passed his turn and went to Valtralys. He found a pair of T's for 1500 points, then landed on a Lose a Turn. He decided to use one of his free spins, and found an N. Valtralys bought the E's, then hit a Bankrupt. He decided to hold onto his other free spin for the time being. Squeeky found an S and three L's for 800, then bought a U missing from the puzzle. Occy still was away, and after allowing a couple minutes for his return, passed again to Valtralys. Valtralys tried a D, only to find none in the puzzle. He used his last free spin and tried an H, only to find none of those, either. Squeeky tried an M, only to find none. We still had no sign of Occy being back, and again passed to Valtralys, who tried P, only to draw the buzzer again. After ascertaining the called letters so far in the puzzle, Squeeky spun 750 and found an F, then bought the A's. That's when Occy announced he had returned, in time to hear Squeeky call for a K not in the puzzle. So after it seemed Occy was gone, he returned, spun 1000 on the wheel and found three C's for 3000 points. Even after buying the I's and O, he had 2500 points, which would have been enough to take the lead. He spun once more, seeking to fill the last letter, and landed on Bankrupt. Valtralys decided to just solve, and did so successfully - collectibles fanatic - for the house minimum 250 points.

That brought us to the end of tonight's game, and in solving all three puzzles, Valtralys was tonight's big winner with 2150 points. Congratulations to Valtralys, and a big thank you to him, Occy, and Squeeky for coming out to play tonight in the return of Fed events. Join us again on alternate Tuesdays for the Fed Phrase Game and for FEDPARDY!, and other Fed events throughout the week.
