REAL LIFE NEWS: COLLECTIVE NOUNS OF THE FUTURE

by Hazed

Collective nouns are fun, particularly when you learn about some of the more obscure ones. Sure, we all know that a group of lions is called a pride and a bunch of horses is a herd, but what about "a murder of crows"? Who came up with that one?

The problem with collective nouns is that they are stuck in the past... they take no account of technological advances, or things that might happen in the future. The question of what to call several droids, or a group of zlitherworms, hasn't been settled. An infestation of marsrats, maybe?

Outside of Fed, somebody has been giving this some thought, and has compiled a list of collective nouns for fantasy and sci-fi type creatures. Take a look here and see if you agree with these choices.
