FED PHRASE GAME

Tuesday November 10
by Fancy-Fancy, Technocrat of Toontown

Four players joined me in Studio 1 for tonight's Fed Phrase Game. Squeeky was waiting when I arrived, and Silversims, Twitch, and Munabilo also came in. I explained the rules for our new players, and after verifying no questions remained on how to play, the players spun to determine the playing order. Twitch got the high number for the first slot, and Silversims edged Squeeky for the second slot. Squeeky was third, and when Munabilo arrived a little later, it became fourth in the order.

Our first puzzle was a 3 word name (8, 8, and 10 letters), with Twitch up first to start it. He found the S's and R to start, bought the E's and A's, added the T's, L, N, and M's, and bought the I's before deciding to solve - Galactic Heritage Commission - for 3850 points.

Tonight's second puzzle was a 4 word place (6, 4, 6, and 7 letters), with Silversims up first for it. He started off finding an R, followed by three S's. He bought the E's, then found an N, two C's, and bought the A before deciding to solve - Selena City sports complex - for 1700 points.

I announced at the start of Round 3 that I had a special prize for tonight's winner. Our puzzle for the round was a 3 word thing (10, 7, and 10 letters), and Squeeky was up next to start it. Squeeky found three R's, followed by three S's and a T. It bought the E's, then spun and found L's, an N, bought the A's, and found an M. For a while it appeared Squeeky might make it three consecutive rounds in which the player starting the puzzle took it all the way, until it then bought an O missing from the puzzle. Munabilo spun once, landed on 300, chose C, of which there were two, and promptly solved - impressive crystal chandelier - for 600 points.

Tonight's fourth puzzle was 3 word food and drink (3, 8, and 8 letters), with Twitch up first for it. He found a pair of R's to start, but then the wheel landed on Bankrupt, wiping out those points. Silversims tried an S, but it wasn't in the puzzle, nor an M for Squeeky. Munabilo landed on 1000 and found a D. After buying the E's, it landed on 1000 again and found a T. Its turn ended with the selection of a missing N. Twitch found a pair of L's in the puzzle, and bought the A. He tried a P next, but it wasn't in the puzzle. Silversims spun, but landed on Lose a Turn. Squeeky landed on 1000, but couldn't take advantage with an F. Munabilo also landed on 1000, but likewise couldn't capitalize with a G. Twitch found a B for 400, but then missed with an H. Silversims spun, believing he knew the puzzle, but didn't get a chance to pick a letter, as the wheel stopped on Lose a Turn again for him. Squeeky tried a J, to no avail. Munabilo spun, rooting "no Whammies!", but the wheel stopped on Bankrupt for him, the equivalent. I gave my best impression of one of the Whammies, to the amusement of those present, and then Twitch spun 750 and picked C, filling in the final consonants. After buying an I, he solved - red licorice bootlace - for another 3650 points.

We had time to play a fifth and final puzzle tonight. The puzzle was a 3 word thing (6, 2, and 8 letters), with Silversims up first for it. He started off spinning 150, but his choice of an S was not in the puzzle. Squeeky tried an R, but there weren't any. Munabilo left to watch V, so we passed its turn to Twitch. He found a T for 750, then bought the E's, A, and I. He tried an L on his next spin, but none were there for him. Silversims got the puzzle back and found a pair of M's, and an F, bought the O's, finishing the vowels, and found two P's before he suddenly had a puzzle solution and decided to solve - moment of epiphany - for 1300 points.

That brought us to the end of tonight's game. Our final scores were:

Twitch: 7500
Silversims: 3000
Munabilo: 600

That made Twitch tonight's big winner, and winner of that special prize, a slithy tove! Congratulations to all our winners, and thanks to all of them for playing. Join us again November 24 for our next exciting edition of the Fed Phrase Game.
