EVENT EDITOR: RELEASE 2 - MORE SCRIPTS NOW AVAILABLE

The next release of the event editor is now available for download from our website, giving planet owners access to more features.

There are six new scripts in this release which increase the things you can do with events. The new scripts are:

• checkmoney - checks whether a player has enough groats to pay for something
• changemoney - takes money away from a player in payment for something, or add money to her balance as a reward
• checkplayer - checks one or more of the four stats: stamina, strength, dexterity and intelligence, and varies the outcome depending on whether the stats are higher, lower or equal to values you specify
• changeplayer - changes the current value of one or more of the stats, adding or decreasing to them
• checkrank - checks the player's rank and varies the outcome depending on whether she's higher, lower or equal to the rank you specify
• checkinsurance - checks whether the player is insured and varies the outcome accordingly

As you can see, some of these scripts allow you to make permanent changes to players' stats or money, which is a very powerful tool. There are rules about how you can use them which I have set out below.

You can download the new version of the editor from here. If you already have a recent version of the event editor then you don't have to download everything again but can just get the upgrade. Otherwise you should download the full installation.

The Advanced Workbench Manual has been extended with new lessons that teach you how to use these scripts. It also tells you how to add commands to locations, and then puts everything covered so far together to show you how to provide transportation - a taxi, a horse and cart, a space shuttle or a flying carpet, whatever fits in with your planet.

As I have said before, you MUST read the manual and work your way through the lessons otherwise you won't know how to use these scripts properly. You can download it from the same page.
