REAL LIFE NEWS: WHY MEN WON'T DO HOUSEWORK

by Hazed

And yet more dangers...

Oh dear. As if men needed another excuse not to help out with the housework, now a study says that doing household chores could reduce a man's sperm count.

The problem isn't the hard work, it's the gadgets such as vacuum cleaners and microwave ovens - anything that puts out an electromagnetic field. Researchers exposed male volunteers to such fields and found the exposure could double the risk of having poor-quality sperm. So, they conclude, men should stay away from microwaves and other machines that generate the fields.

That's what the study says, but frankly I am dubious. If it is true then surely men who drive cars or work in offices... or just live anywhere except on a desert island... are going to encounter strong electromagnetic fields all the time. There's no way to avoid it. If there is an effect on sperm count then it's going to affect everyone.

So this really is a very poor excuse for not helping with the housework!

Speaking of sperm... here's some homework for you: http://www.scientificamerican.com/blog/post.cfm?id=why-do-human-testicles-hang-like-th-2009-11-19. It's long but very interesting.
