HOW TO CREATE AND DESTROY OBJECTS

There is a new version of the event editor which adds four new scripts you can use in your events. The scripts are:

  • Createobject - this lets you make objects appear, for example, you can sell items in a shop, give players souvenirs, or use objects as part of a puzzle
  • Destroyobject - this gets rid of an object that was previously created, for example, removing an apple when the player eats it or a snowball when it is thrown
  • Checkinventory - this lets you check whether a player is carrying a particular item and vary the outcome accordingly, for example, only allowing people into a party if they are carrying an invitation, or not allowing people into a restaurant if they are carrying a six-legged Betelgeusian bloodhound
  • Checkmap - this lets you check where the player is when an event is triggered. It's used with objects so that you can have objects that have special uses in certain places, or on certain planets - for example, lighting a match in an area filled with gas would have an explosive result!

There is also one more new script in this release of the editor, destroyinv, but that's labelled as a staff only script so please do not use it.
