FEDPARDY!

Tuesday June 29
by Fancy-Fancy, Gengineer of Toontown

Three players joined me in Studio 1, while Occy watched the proceedings on the channel. Squeeky, Jfour, and Merepoule all showed up in Studio 1 to play tonight's game. I went over the rules for our players and answered a few questions about game play. With that done, we took a look at our categories. They were: The Ides of Fed, Sol Objects, Q-Ball, and The Rhea World. I had the players spin for first selection, and that went to Merepoule. She started us off by selecting Sol Objects for 1, and we were underway.

Nobody tried to respond to that first answer, but Squeeky got the 2-pointer on the next selection. The 3-pointer, everyone passed on trying, and Squeeky then found the first Daily Double under the 4 for Sol Objects. Deciding to risk 2 points, this was the answer the mouse received:

You might be able to get one of these, and draw compliments from certain characters who see you with it. And certain felines will want to eat it.

Squeeky responded with, "What is a marmaset?" I originally thought the response was the correct "marsrat", until I read it more closely, and realized that was a different animal entirely, so Squeeky got it incorrect. Merepoule got 5 points by ringing in on the 5-pointer and responding correctly to it. She then started The Rhea World for 1. No one attempted that answer, but Squeeky rang in and got the 2. Squeeky then found the other Daily Double under the 3. As with the first one, Squeeky decided to risk 2 points. This was the answer:

The crystal caves feature numerous formations, including one in the Grand Hall resembling this creature.

Squeeky responded with "What is a zlitherworm?", but that was incorrect. The two possibilities were a marillion, and a marsrat. That dropped Squeeky back to zero again. Merepoule got the 1 pointer and Jfour the 2 pointer from Q-Ball to finish up the first half. At the break, Merepoule led with 6 points, to 2 for Jfour, and 0 for Squeeky. Squeeky got the first selection of Double Fedpardy, as the one trailing.

Squeeky chose Q-Ball for 6 to start Double Fedpardy. Both Merepoule and Squeeky tried it, but missed it, losing 6 points each. No one attempted the 8, and Jfour missed on the 10. No one rang in on The Rhea World for 8 or 10, leaving us with The Ides of Fed. This category was kinder to our players, with somebody getting every one of them. Merepoule got the 2 and 4. Jfour got the 6 after Squeeky missed it. Squeeky got the 8, and Merepoule got the 10 to finish up Double Fedpardy. That made our scores at the end of Double Fedpardy:

Merepoule: 16
Jfour: -2
Squeeky: -4

Merepoule advanced alone to Final Fedpardy, with the chance to bet as many of her points as desired, based on tonight's category of Planets. Once Merepoule had decided and TB'ed her wager, and I had explained how Final Fedpardy works, and Merepoule verified she was ready, we saw tonight's Final Fedpardy answer:

Two planetary levels of development that are immune to disaffection.

When 60 seconds were up, we took a look at Merepoule's question: "what is leisure and biological?" Biological was correct, but leisure was not, so she got it wrong. Agricultural was the other correct level. Merepoule risked 2 points in Final Fedpardy, leaving her with 14, making her this week's FEDPARDY! champion! Congratulations to Merepoule! Thanks also to Squeeky, Jfour, and our audience in Occy. Join us again July 13 for our next edition of FEDPARDY! And don't forget the Fed Phrase Game July 6.
