REAL LIFE NEWS: HOW NOT TO LEAVE WORK EARLY

by Hazed

So you're at work, and you're tired. It's been a long day - a long week, even - and you are bored, bored, bored. You want to go home, but how can you convince the boss to release you?

One woman in Florida came up with a plan: she started a fire in her office. Michelle Perrino, a Florida woman, torched a filing cabinet just so she could slope off early. It worked... but then she gave herself away by mentioning during a staff meeting that the fire had started in a filing cabinet. Since employees had not been told the conflagration's origin, she immediately found herself under suspicion.

Apparently, this wasn't the first time she had tried this stunt: her former boyfriend told investigators that she'd previously "tripped the main breaker for the office building so it would lose power, and adjusted the phones so no calls would come in, all so she would be sent home from work early with pay."

Her antics have earned her a conviction for criminal mischief and landed her in jail for nine months, as well as a big fine. And I guess she's lost her job, too!
